Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Basketball is back again this year! We are looking forward to having a full slate of Our Lady of Victory Blue Hawk teams for all girls and boys of the parish, covering grades 3 through 12, for the winter season. Come join us!
The season will start in early November and late February 2023. Games will be on Saturday or Sunday at various schools in D.C. and Montgomery County. Practices are held once per week.
The teams mostly correspond to school grades as follows:
U10 (Under 10) 3rd & 4th grades, U12 – 5th & 6th grades, U14 – 7th & 8th grades.
CYO teams for high schoolers are also available for ages 14-18.
The cost is $200 per player. Financial assistance is available, please inquire with Sheila Martinez. Other questions can be directed to OLV Athletic Director Jim O’Brien.
*Please note that we rent gyms from various schools and organizations subjecting us to their rules and regulations. Some of these rules will deal with parking, how to enter or exit the gym, and covid procedures (vaccination, number of people). As guests, we are required to follow their rules so that we can use their facilities. As we formulate the practice schedules for each team in the next several weeks, we will notify each team of any specific requirements.
A great program for the younger kids, grades Pre-K - 2nd grade, to introduce them to basketball and basic skills! There will be 7 sessions on Saturday mornings starting in January. The clinics have been a huge success and great community builders in the past. The little ones love it! Final dates and registration details coming soon.
Clinic Volunteers – we are in need of parents to help us run the clinics, from coordinating drills to selling coffee and donuts. Please consider helping out; no experience necessary. Contact Brian Vasallo.
